Cal OES Broadcasts Live From First Responders Appreciation Day At California State Fair

On a sizzling hot day in Sacramento, the Cal OES Public Information and Media Relations team took their mobile television studio on the road, broadcasting a live, 30-minute show as part of First Responders Appreciation Day at the California State Fair.

The broadcast, which took place Thursday, July 27 from 11:30am – 12:00pm, was shown live on the OES Facebook page and YouTube channel.  Veteran Sacramento TV anchors Dale Schornack and Cristina Mendonsa reunited to co-host the broadcast, which featured the entire team from the Office of Public Information working in various roles both in front of and behind the camera.

The broadcast utilized behind the scenes video profiling the Cal Fire Training Academy, the California Highway Patrol Academy, a rescue by the California National Guard, the California Department of Public Health and a Cal OES Emergency Services Coordinator.

As of July 28, the broadcast had reached over 31,000 people on Facebook and had over 11,200 views.
