Cal OES, California National Guard Leadership Visit Kern County Emergency Operations Center

Cal OES Director Mark Ghilarducci, Chief Deputy Director Nancy Ward and Major General David Baldwin of the California National Guard visited the Kern County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Friday, July 1, 2016 to discuss the latest updates on recovery and response to the Erskine Fire with local officials.

Firefighters have gained the upper hand with the 47,864 acre fire and it is now 80% contained. Officials also report more than 250 homes were destroyed by the fire.

With the 4th of July weekend ahead, the risk for fires increases. Residents are reminded to celebrate responsibly.
