Cal OES welcomed the executive board of the California Police Chiefs Association to our headquarters today. Their visit was part of our ongoing effort to include California’s law enforcement community in every major activity this organization performs, from mutual aid to critical infrastructure protection. Law Chief Mark Pazin and Deputy Chief Paul Tassone gave the distinguished group a tour of our State Operation Center (SOC), giving them first hand observation of our incident support team coordinating response and recovery efforts for California’s wildfires.
Today’s visit by the board was the first step in having Cal Chiefs meet at Cal OES on a regular basis to ensure law enforcement continuity, collaboration and an understanding of resources Cal OES can offer to local jurisdictions.
Concurrently this morning, Cal OES Law Branch also hosted Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert and her executives on a tour of the SOC.
This meeting of Cal Chiefs and the District Attorney succeeded a similar gathering of California State Sheriffs which Cal OES hosted several months ago.
