FEMA Welcomes Public Input on Housing Solutions

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its local and state partners are focused on identifying the best housing solutions for survivors of the Camp wildfire in Butte County, California. Solutions include the use of recreational vehicles and manufactured housing units. The Housing Task Force is working diligently to quickly identify and assess potential housing sites in Butte County and surrounding areas.

Intermediate housing assistance is available to eligible applicants, including rental assistance, for up to 18 months. Housing considerations will include unique needs, such as many seniors and people with access and functional needs. Solutions will include the use of FEMA-purchased recreational vehicles and manufactured housing units. Dozens of sites to place units have been evaluated, and the search for new sites is ongoing.

FEMA and its partners on the state-led Joint Housing Task Force are reaching out to members of the public to widen the search. If you own commercial trailer sites or RV pads that you believe would be suitable and will be available to house wildfire survivors, please contact us by sending an email to FEMA-Housing-Solutions@fema.dhs.gov.

E-mails will be reviewed by our Housing Task Force, and if feasible, FEMA will reach back out for further details.

Thank you for your input and continued support. Together, we work for the continued recovery of the survivors of all the recent California wildfires.
