Local Assistance Center Helps Residents Recover from Mono County Round Fire

Sacramento – The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) is participating in a Local Assistance Center set up to help residents and business owners affected by the Round Fire in Mono County, announced BOE Vice Chair George Runner. Staff will be available to answer questions about BOE tax and fee programs and help those who want relief from penalties and/or interest or an extension of time to file a tax/fee return. Spanish language assistance will be available.

“The Board of Equalization is here to help,” said Vice Chair Runner. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been impacted by this fire.”

BOE is one of several state agencies that will staff the Local Assistance Center to help those who may have lost important tax and other documents or who need assistance rebuilding their homes or business properties. Those unable to visit the Local Assistance Center can go online to request relief from penalties and/or interest or an extension of time to file a tax/fee return for the tax and fee programs listed below. They may also call the BOE Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-800-400-7115 (TTY: 711), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pacific time), for assistance.
