Mutual Aid Deploys To California In Response To Storm Recovery

Last October, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and the California National Guard (CNG) jointly deployed personnel with emergency response and management expertise to assist in Florida and neighboring states in response to Hurricane Matthew. During a two-week deployment, Cal OES and CNG personnel used their specialized technical skills to help Floridian emergency management officials at Florida’s State Emergency Operations Center.

Now, after relentless storms battered California this winter, Cal OES reached out to its mutual aid partners requesting assistance from other states through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) – the nation’s mutual-aid system. California Deploys Personnel to Florida to Assist with Hurricane Matthew Response

Specially-trained personnel from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and the California National Guard (CNG) with emergency response and management expertise have been deployed to assist with emergency response activities in Florida and neighboring states.

During a two-week deployment, Cal OES and CNG personnel will use their specialized technical skills to help Floridian emergency management officials at Florida’s State Emergency Operations Center in to support the state’s response to Hurricane Matthew.

Cal OES is currently monitoring resource requests being submitted under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) process from Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. Other fellow EMAC member states are also responding to requests from the affected areas, and coordinating nationwide in support of the ongoing efforts to Hurricane Matthew.

At the direction of Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., specially trained personnel from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and the California National Guard (CNG) with emergency response and management expertise have been deployed to assist with emergency response activities in Hawaii.

During their four-week deployment, Cal OES and CNG personnel will use their specialized technical skills to help Hawaiian emergency management officials at the state’s Emergency Operations Center in Honolulu support the state’s response to Tropical Storm Iselle and Hurricane Julio.

California Recovery Specialists Deploy to Assist New Mexico After Intense Flooding

SACRAMENTO-The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) has directed the County of Santa Barbara’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) for the deployment of two disaster recovery specialists to New Mexico in support of the ongoing recovery efforts following severe storms, flooding and debris slides.

The two personnel tasked for deployment are Certified Emergency Managers from the County of Santa Barbara’s Office of Emergency Management. The personnel arrived in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Sunday and will stay for approximately 21 days.

Governor Brown Sends Assistance to East Coast for Hurricane Sandy

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today directed the California Emergency Management Agency and California National Guard to send specialized assistance to the east coast to help in responding to Hurricane Sandy.

On Monday, the California National Guard sent military transport aircraft carrying two helicopters and two highly trained Pararescue teams with their equipment to Charlotte, North Carolina. Aircraft are also being deployed including a Boeing C17, two C130 aircraft and two HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters.
