The distressing event unfolded on February 12, when Mikey was drawn outside his home on Garfias Drive by strange noises.
According to friends, Mikey discovered individuals attempting to steal his car’s catalytic converter and bravely confronted them. Unfortunately, his act of courage turned catastrophic as the thieves ran him over. “They basically ran him over,” recounted his friend, Nick Narevsky, reflecting on the harrowing experience.

The aftermath of the incident has left Mikey with catastrophic injuries, including severe brain trauma, extensive scarring on his legs, and broken ankles. His friend Dean Brooks expressed the severity of the situation, stating, “He took a hit: the extent of his injuries is devastating.” Following emergency brain surgery, Mikey continues to fight for his life, surrounded by the love and support of his friends and family.
As detectives delve into the case, they are analyzing surveillance footage and investigating multiple reports of vehicle thefts in the nearby vicinity. Information from Narevsky suggests that the thieves were well-prepared and had carefully scouted the area prior to the attack. “They had scouted out the house, they had scouted out the car. They were ruthless about what they did; they just do not care about human life,” he noted.
