Karen Bass Moves Closer to Re-Election as Mayor of Los Angeles

Karen Bass connected with her supporters as counting continued across Los Angeles, expressing her enthusiasm for the city. “This is the greatest city in the world,” she declared with pride.

Current Standings in the Mayoral Race

The incumbent mayor, Bass, is making significant strides towards a potential re-election. With 48% of the votes reported, she has garnered over 139,000 votes, translating to approximately 36.7% of the total ballots cast. This strong performance has led to projections by the Associated Press indicating that she will secure a position on the ballot for the November 2026 election.

As Bass leads the race, the anticipation builds regarding her challenger for the upcoming general election. As of 10 p.m. PT on Tuesday, June 2, former reality television personality Spencer Pratt holds the second position, amassing over 112,000 votes, which accounts for around 29.6% of the total. Close behind, Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman trails with more than 79,000 votes, representing approximately 20.8% of the total count.
