Cooling Down After a Heat Wave
The scorching heat that gripped Southern California is making way for a welcome cooldown this week. Starting Sunday, temperatures will begin to ease as a cooling trend sets in. This is just the beginning, as a low-pressure system will descend on the region on Monday, promising some much cooler days ahead.
Weather Forecast Across Southern California
As we move into the new week, highs will drop significantly from the record temperatures we’ve seen recently, although they will still remain above average for this time of year. By Monday, many areas can expect highs in the 60s to 70s.
In Los Angeles and Orange County, Sunday will usher in sunny skies with a high of 82 degrees, dipping to a low of 53. Come Monday, anticipate a temperature drop of around 10 degrees.
The valleys and Inland Empire will see Sunday highs of 84 degrees and a low of 54, before cooling to the low 70s by Monday. Meanwhile, the beaches will greet the day with morning fog giving way to afternoon sunshine, achieving a high of 71 degrees and a low of 56, with temperatures expected to cool to the upper 60s on Monday.
Mountain areas can expect a sunny yet breezy Sunday, reaching a high of 62 degrees and a low of 33. However, the temperatures will fall to the mid-50s by Monday. Desert locations will enjoy a high of 81 degrees on Sunday, with a low of 43. Palm Springs is looking at a rather warm high of 93 degrees.
As the week progresses, don’t get too comfortable with the cooler temps; another warm spell is already on the horizon as we approach the next weekend.
