Armed Robbery Strikes Beverly Hills
A couple encountered a terrifying experience in broad daylight on the iconic Rodeo Drive when they became victims of an armed robbery. The incident, which shocked both residents and visitors, occurred on November 23, 2024, during the bustling holiday shopping season.
Details of the Incident
At approximately 1:20 p.m., four individuals clad in black and wearing masks executed the robbery just outside a high-end retail store on North Rodeo Drive. Beverly Hills police reported that both a male and a female victim were assaulted during the attack. The male victim was struck on the back of the head with a firearm, while the female victim was violently thrown to the ground and kicked multiple times.
Witnesses described the chaos that unfolded, and video footage captured the suspects fleeing the scene shortly after the robbery. The thieves managed to steal handbags, cash, and a cherished engagement ring from the couple.
After the robbery, the suspects escaped in a rental car, allegedly driven by a fifth accomplice. All five suspects were later identified as residents of Oakland, California, sparking a manhunt that involved both local detectives and the U.S. Marshals Service task force. They were located and arrested in Oakland, subsequently being transported back to Beverly Hills for processing.
Records indicate that two of the suspects were juveniles at the time of the incident. The main suspect, Kingikirah Stevenson, faces charges of robbery and conspiracy, while the others are charged with robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy.
Currently, the suspects are awaiting trial in Beverly Hills as the community grapples with the aftermath of this alarming incident.
