Around 5 p.m., local authorities received alarming reports from a caller claiming to be armed and making threats towards another shopper.

Responding swiftly to ensure the safety of the public, officers from the Arcadia Police Department arrived at the scene and, prioritizing caution, initiated a temporary lockdown of the mall. They meticulously inspected the premises, searching for the reported threat.
In footage captured during the event, police officers can be seen with their weapons drawn, instructing individuals inside a shoe store to get on the ground while bystanders watched in anxious apprehension.
