Los Angeles firefighters are deeply affected by the tragic loss of their colleague, Firefighter Stan Reza, who died in a collision with a semi-truck early Friday morning in Whittier.

Stan, who was only 35 years old, had been with the L.A. Fire Department for three years and was off duty at the time of the accident. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident. Reports indicate that the collision occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. on the northbound side of the 605 Freeway, near Beverly Boulevard. Stan was driving a pickup truck when the tragic encounter with a tractor trailer happened. Sadly, he passed away at the scene due to blunt traumatic injuries, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner.
