Shipping Woes Unfold as Customers Face Missing Packages Bound for Mexico

Frustration Surrounds Local Shipping Business Closure

Customers in La Puente are grappling with the painful reality that their packages headed for Mexico have vanished, following the abrupt shutdown of a local shipping company. Many express their disappointment after investing hundreds of dollars to send items south of the border, only to find their shipments lost in limbo.

Previously, numerous individuals had successfully utilized the services of this business, but they now face the aftermath of its closure. When an ABC7 crew visited the site, a notice was posted indicating scheduled pickups for Wednesday, yet many customers were left empty-handed, echoing their frustration to Eyewitness News.

Empty Promises and Vanishing Packages

After weeks — for some, even months — of waiting, frustrated customers arrived at the company’s warehouse only to discover it stripped bare. They recalled paying significant sums to have their packages delivered beyond the U.S. border, only to feel abandoned and without recourse.

Some packages contained thoughtful gifts for family members, while others were vital supplies for small business ventures. Jesus Lopez shared his concern after visiting the warehouse, stating, “I decided to come today, but it turns out there’s nobody here.” Previously informed that his packages were on their way to Mexico City, Lopez later found the shipment status altered with no further information on its whereabouts.

Another customer voiced her disappointment, emphasizing the importance of sending items back home amidst rising costs. “We work hard, and we want our families to receive something from us. This is really disheartening,” she lamented, noting the lack of assistance even from local authorities.

As word spread, some customers reached out to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, only to be advised that it was a legal issue. A recent message from the shipping company hinted at bankruptcy proceedings and promised the return of stored boxes.

Eyewitness News encountered a chaotic scene outside the warehouse, culminating in deputies clearing the area, as attempts to reach the company through published contacts met with silence.

Ana Cristina Flores, overwhelmed with emotion, recounted her experience as she sought the lost shipment holding her dreams. With her husband, they had invested substantial funds into products for a budding business in Mexico. While she managed to recover one of the two boxes, the emotional toll of the situation was evident as she expressed, “Only God knows what we’re dealing with here.””>

The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs has acknowledged multiple consumer complaints regarding this shipping company. They urge affected individuals to file a complaint to initiate an investigation. Consumers can reach out to the department at 800-593-8222 for support and resources.
