A Sacramento man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife after a series of misleading statements led investigators to unveil a tragic truth. Authorities discovered the burned remains of Jasmine Gill, a 30-year-old mother, putting a heartbreaking conclusion to a missing persons investigation that began over a month ago.
The Disappearance and Initial Claims
Jasmine was last seen on September 30, 2026, at her home in Sacramento, prompting her cousin to file a missing persons report on October 4. During the ensuing investigation, her husband, Gurinder Gill, claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had detained Jasmine while she was checking the mail. However, authorities soon debunked this assertion by confirming with ICE that no such action had occurred.
As detectives continued their inquiry, they uncovered inconsistencies in Gurinder’s account. It was revealed that the couple was amidst an ongoing divorce and a child custody battle, raising suspicions about his claims.
Discovery of Remains and Arrest
