Kathy Hochul and Nicki Minaj Spar Over Social Media

Celebrity Clash in New York’s Political Scene

In a lively exchange that blends politics with pop culture, New York Governor Kathy Hochul and rap superstar Nicki Minaj have found themselves in a heated debate. The friction ignited when Minaj, known for her vocal support of former President Donald Trump, took to social media to criticize Hochul.

Minaj didn’t hold back, labeling Hochul an ‘evil woman’ and suggesting that the Democratic Party should abandon her campaign. In a fiery post, she claimed, ‘Even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.’ Her remarks painted a picture of disapproval towards Hochul’s associates and her handling of various political responsibilities.

Hochul’s Response to the Criticism

During a campaign appearance in Albany, Hochul responded to Minaj’s accusations with a sharp retort, advising the rapper to spend less time on social media and more time engaging in the real world. ‘I think she should ought to get outside and get offline a little more. And stop going to Trump rallies because it’s poisoning your mind,’ Hochul said. This response came just after Minaj attended a Trump rally in Michigan, where she encouraged young voters to support Republican candidates in the upcoming election.

This exchange is particularly notable, given that Minaj had previously endorsed Hochul during her campaign for lieutenant governor in 2018. As the gubernatorial race heats up, Hochul is pitted against Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman, who has been actively working to rally Republican supporters across the state. Polls currently show Hochul holding a significant lead as they approach Election Day.
