KB Home, a renowned name in construction, has decided to move its headquarters from Westwood, Los Angeles, to Tempe, Arizona, starting in spring 2027. This strategic transition comes as the company aims to enhance its operations, taking advantage of the lower business costs associated with Arizona.
The Move to Tempe
The relocation signifies a fresh chapter for KB Home, which has long been an essential part of Southern California’s business scene. Although the headquarters is shifting to the Phoenix metro area, the company reassured its clients and stakeholders that its six operating divisions in California will remain fully operational. These divisions manage over 100 active construction sites across the state.
Leadership Insights
Robert McGibney, the president and CEO of KB Home, expressed optimism about the move, emphasizing the collaborative environment it will foster. “It positions KB Home to operate more effectively and supports the next phase of our growth,” he stated. The company highlighted the economic advantages of relocating, particularly how Phoenix’s business-friendly atmosphere is anticipated to enhance efficiency and drive long-term profits.
For California homebuyers, there won’t be an immediate impact on local operations. KB Home is committed to maintaining its extensive footprint in the Golden State, where it has constructed tens of thousands of homes over the years. The relocation will unfold gradually, with corporate staff being transferred to the new facility in Tempe throughout the first half of 2027.
