As temperatures soared this past Sunday, parts of Riverside County and the San Fernando Valley experienced extreme heat, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for large sections of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Residents are finding ways to cope with the sweltering conditions.
At the Mary Alvord Recreation Center in Burbank, families flocked to the aquatic facility in search of relief from the relentless heat. A local father shared his experience, saying, “I brought my wife and daughter. It’s a hot day in the Valley.” Families were seen enjoying the main pool, trying to stay cool while splashing around.
Despite the high temperatures, many locals are maintaining a positive attitude. One family commented, “It’s honestly been a pretty cool year up until the last couple of weeks. It’s actually kind of nice to get some summer heat, but I’m sure I’m going to regret saying that next week.”
