Search Efforts and Discovery
A woman from Piñon Hills, who was reported missing in late May, was tragically found deceased in a desert area close to her home last week. The discovery was made on June 30 around 8 p.m. when authorities responded to a report of a deceased individual in the 10600 block of Oasis Road.
Authorities have confirmed that the remains belong to 55-year-old Loretta Pilitsis. While the investigation is ongoing, details regarding the circumstances of her death have not yet been disclosed by the officials.
The Search for Loretta
Loretta was last seen leaving her residence on foot on May 25, prompting the San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies to initiate a missing persons report from the 900 block of Locust Road. An extensive search was mounted in the area using K-9 units and aerial support, but despite those efforts, she was not found at that time.
In light of the recent discovery, investigators are continuing their inquiries into the case. They urge anyone with relevant information to reach out to the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division at (909) 890-4904 or send a text with the word “REPORT” to We-Tip at (844) 909-3006.
